The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (Association)(NARFE) is a non profit membership organization of current and former federal employees, spouses and survivors. The chief of its several purposes is to protect and enhance the earned retirement benefits of its members in almost 2000 chapters in the United States.

The Maryland Federation of Chapters includes 34 of those chapters as members.

Gaithersburg Chapter 581, among the largest of the 34 chapters in Maryland, meets monthly except in July and August and publishes a newsletter 9 times a year. You would be welcomed by friendly members (employees and retirees) sharing a Federal background at interesting monthly meetings.
